WORK EXPERIENCE

Social Accounts & Writing Samples

As a Digital Strategy Senior Coordinator within Citizen Global's digital division, I managed client projects related to organic social media content, paid strategy, reporting, and community engagement. Additionally, I was the day-to-day account lead for United States Steel Corporation. Client list included Proctor & Gamble, United States Steel Corporation, SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, Zevo Home Insect Control, Oral-B, VinFast, Harlequin, University of Toronto Scarborough, Carrier Fire & Security, and Kidde Fire Safety!

From October 2021 - May 2022, I had the wonderful opportunity to be SDSU's Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Office of the President's first Social Media Intern. In this role, I assisted SDSU's Social Media Strategist with planning, creating, and posting content for SDSU's flagship accounts on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok. My primary responsibility as the first flagship social media intern was to run the university's newly verified TikTok account. It was an absolute blast and such an enriching experience for me as a social media marketer and content creator. There is no greater feeling than promoting a brand you are proud of and I could not have been prouder to attend and work for SDSU.

People who go to SDSU are living in a completely different reality...

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) was my first experience marketing for a large private corporation in San Diego! Despite going into the internship with only basic knowledge of both GA-ASI's products and the defense industry as a whole, I used my research and copywriting skills to create meaningful tweets and LinkedIn posts for the company. This ten-week summer internship program was an experience I will never forget because it taught me how to excel in environments outside of my comfort zone and introduced me to one of my best friends. The internship program consisted of 150+ interns across multiple disciplines (mostly engineering) and provided us free housing at a nearby extended stay. Networking and becoming friends with my fellow intern neighbors was a wonderful experience I am forever grateful for. I also enjoyed being one of two marketing interns in a tight-knit Strategic Marketing & Communications department; the position made me a more well-rounded marketer and introduced me to numerous talented individuals.

My very first marketing internship, this experience is what made me fall in love with social media marketing and storytelling. A Fowler alum myself, I took great pride in helping run my college's social media accounts and assisting in website design, content creation, and event planning. I gained two of my most impactful mentors from my Fowler internship, Gema Deleon and Janey Jennings, both of whom have helped me grow personally and professionally. I started this job mid-pandemic, in June 2020, and was challenged for the first time to learn new job skills and communicate with my supervisors fully remotely. My adaptability and willingness to learn proved invaluable to my development as a marketing professional. Eventually, I was entrusted with a great deal of creative freedom and numerous responsibilities including covering live virtual events on Fowler's socials, connecting with people in the community to generate stories, and writing articles for the Fowler website. This internship, along with my internship for SDSU's Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Office of the President, was hands down one of the best parts of my college experience!

MY WORK IN THE MEDIA

News Articles, Posts & Videos About Me!

In this video, my former Fowler College of Business Council colleagues and I about our involvements at SDSU and how they shaped our SDSU experiences.

I had the pleasure and privilege of being involved with SDSU's annual Women in Leadership (WiL) Conference during my junior and senior years of college. In the spring of 2021, when interning for the Fowler College of Business, I edited the WiL website, created promotional content for Fowler's social channels, and covered the live event on Fowler's Instagram Story. In the fall of 2021, my group project for my MKTG 478 “Marketing and Sales for Social Impact” class (taught by WiL founder Professor Steven Osinski) consisted of organizing a Women in Sports Marketing “Lunch & Learn” event to inspire young women wanting to pursue a career in a male-dominated industry. My involvement with WiL continued into the spring of 2022 to help select keynote speakers and promote the March conference to peers. In addition, I was fortunate enough to be a co-moderator for the Content Creators Panel at the conference! I'm so grateful for the professional experiences, confidence, and role models WiL has given me over the years.

I was selected to be a member of SDSU's 2021 Homecoming Court! It was such an honor to be celebrated with outstanding student leaders and friends at the homecoming football game. I'll cherish the memory forever!
